At times, people may feel compelled to part ways with their pets due to unexpected life shifts or unforeseen situations. We recognize that making such a choice is challenging, and we are here to assist in facilitating a new home for your pet.
Haven Pet Center exclusively accommodates owner-relinquished animals. If you encounter lost or stray animals, we kindly advise bringing them to your nearby county animal services.

Haven Pet Center functions as a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization, relying exclusively on the support of our local community, devoid of any external city, state, or federal funding. Our commitment to addressing the diverse needs of every animal in our care ensures their well-being until we secure a fitting and loving home.

While the admission fees may not entirely cover the comprehensive expenses associated with the meticulous care of your pet, they play a pivotal role in furnishing us with indispensable resources. These funds are crucial for maintaining your pet's safety and well-being throughout the intricate rehoming process. To streamline the admission of a pet into our care for rehoming, the following fees are in effect:

Surrender Fee: $300, accompanied by additional costs for spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, and an optional microchip if required.
Litters: An initial fee of $100 covers the first pet, followed by a nominal charge of $5 for each additional pet.

Mama and Babies: The nurturing care extends to both mother and offspring. Mama bears a general surrender fee of $300, supplemented by any pertinent additional fees. Each precious baby, with its unique charm, incurs a modest $5 fee.

Your collaboration and support in this endeavor not only contribute to the financial sustainability of our mission but also affirm our collective commitment to creating a sanctuary where all the remarkable souls entrusted to us experience love and care. Together, we embark on a journey to ensure the well-being of every cherished pet that seeks refuge within Haven Pet Center.

For your pet to be consideered for admission to Haven Pet Center, please fill out the form below.  If your pet meets our critera, you will be contacted for a health and behavior assessment appointment.

Owner Surrender Policies & Procedures

The admissions process is expected to last approximately 1 hour. Our Intake Team conducts a behavior assessment for each dog and puppy to evaluate their temperament. If a dog being surrendered does not meet our assessment criteria, regrettably, we won't be able to admit them into our care. However, we will offer alternative suggestions to assist you in finding suitable solutions for the well-being of the animal.

The admissions process will take 1 hour. Please bring your cat in a carrier if possible, however, we do not accept surrenders of cats or kittens in traps. We do not admit feral cats or feral kittens.

  • Animals with attack training history
  • Pets displaying aggressive or unsociable behavior during behavior assessments
  • Animals deemed physically unsuitable for adoption based on health examinations
  • Feral cats
  • Lost or stray animals should be taken to the local county animal services.

Additionally, if you choose not to take the animal to a public shelter, you are required to place advertisements in local newspapers and distribute Found flyers in the area where you found the dog for a minimum of ten days. Only after this period can you legally claim ownership of the animal and proceed with re-homing efforts.

We believe in providing compassionate and respectful treatment to every pet undergoing euthanasia. The fee for euthanasia is $100, in addition to the cost of cremation. To schedule an appointment, please use the button below.

Private cremation allows you to preserve your pet's cremains as a lasting keepsake. Upon completion of the cremation process, we guarantee that you will receive only your pet's cremated remains in your chosen urn. If you opt to have your pet cremated and returned to you, you can select an urn to be included in your return package. The turnaround time for private cremation is approximately two weeks.

The cost of Private Cremation is $275, which covers private cremation, a selected urn, and a keepsake pawprint.

With communal cremation, your pet's remains are not returned; instead, they are scattered at sea. You may want to consider a memorial pawprint as a timeless remembrance.

The cost of Communal Cremation is $30.

Additional Services:

Pawprint - $59

Please note that we reserve the right to refuse euthanasia for any animal.
